Philip Barter Studio Gallery
This wood relief ivory-billed woodpecker was chosen by Philip as the subject of the work he did in an effort to support an auction presented by Maine's Audobon. Philip's motivation in choosing the ivory-billed woodpecker was the result of the excitement he felt when learning that a species that was once believed extinct may actually still survive in southern forests. The ivory-billed woodpecker is larger than pileated woodpeckers, and pileated woodpeckers are commonly seen at Philip's studio gallery.
